This is PETMAN, the humanoid robot from Boston Dynamics, the same company that created Big Dog. Scary, eh?

I’m sure the metal cables attaching near the neck are for stablization, and to protect their expensive robot, but it’s easy to imagine it as a mechanism to protect the humans against the robot. 🙂
